Job Description

The Marketing Content Strategist is the champion of the client's target audience and customer base, a steward of their brand, and the connection point between Vennli’s content intelligence insights and the client’s content plans. The Marketing Content Strategist is responsible for creating recommended content strategies that enable Vennli’s clients to meet campaign KPI's and achieve their business objectives.

A Research Analyst will be expected to:
  • Translate research outputs into actionable plans that meet the needs of the client’s customers at each stage of the buyer’s journey.
  • Create and present recommended content strategies, messaging and communication plans that support the development of customer personas, sales communications plans, and marketing campaigns, internal communications plans, and product marketing plans.
  • Assist in the sales process on large projects to accurately scope, plan, and eventually present strategies that clearly communicate how the proposed plan will help the client meet their business goals.
  • Coordinate between the client, the client’s agency partners, Vennli account management, and the Vennli research team to ensure that all proposed content aligns to a data-driven customer-centered strategy.  Willingness to present via video conference or in person when possible is critical.
  • Introduce a wide variety of marketing tools and techniques to the Vennli research team that complements Vennli’s survey research in order to gather additional data on the client’s customer choices including content consumption patterns.
  • Review and evaluate some of client’s final content across a variety of formats to ensure the content aligns with customer needs and with the proposed client strategy.
  • Be a thought leader, content creator, and Vennli evangelist on building and executing data driven content strategies to drive growth.

Capabilities 

The ideal candidate will have previous experience as content strategist and has a proven track record for enabling success. 

  • 5-7 years of experience in digital marketing, content marketing, and strategy consulting; 2-4 years of experience as an interactive content strategist/producer or directly related experience
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects with competing priorities
  • Experience and comfort presenting to the C-level and VP-level
  • Experience researching and analyzing content and online presence and translating into a strategy
  • Demonstrated experience of key strategy engagement artifacts including research and discovery documents, strategy plans with tactical recommendations using a variety of media types, and reporting on outcomes
  • Experience in commissioning visual and multimedia content
  • Marketing certifications from HubSpot and Content Marketing Institute or other reputable organizations
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently
  • High level of initiative, creativity and flexibility
  • Ability to work to tight time limits and deadlines
  • Strong business acumen. Can understand and clearly define objectives for content strategy and tie client business goals to strategy
  • Understanding of a broad set of marketing channels, both online and offline, the content needs for those channels and typical KPIs for each channel
  • Familiarity working with web design teams, creative teams, SEO, PPC, IT, social media and digital marketing teams
  • Familiar with content management systems
  • Intermediate to strong understanding of SEO principles
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn new tools for research. Example: BuzzSumo, Followerwonk, Google Trends.
